Print & Apply units consist of three modules:
1. The Printer
2. The Printer Control Unit (PCU)
3. The Applicator
All parts in the Print & Apply unit are described in detail in the Technical section of this manual.
Below is a general description of the system and the most important parts.

The Printer
There are two types of Nilang printers currently available:
     Direct Thermal (D-Series)
     Thermal Transfer (T-Series).

The Printer Control Unit houses the electronic circuit boards and associated equipment required
to control the operation of the printer.
If the printer is equipped with a label applicator, as it generally is, an ACC (Application Control
Card) is required. An ACC is capable of controlling applicators having numerous cylinders and is
mounted within the PCU.

The Applicator
The applicator, either a standard or a customised version, is mounted in front of the printer and
can, depending on the design, apply labels on both stationary and moving objects.
These objects can be large or small, robust or fragile and some may require the application of
more than one label.
Used with a Nilang applicator, a printer can be used to print and apply any style of label to the
majority of products.

The Nilang printers are extremely robustly constructed and the label and ribbon rollers together
with the print head are easily accessible from one side of the printer, the Operator side, whilst
the driving belts, cables and an electronic circuit board are concealed under a covering plate on
the opposite side, the Service side.
